On May 20, 2025, Armenia’s human resources community gathered to celebrate International HR Day – an event organised by the Armenian HR Association (https://hrcommunity.am/en/) in partnership with Nairi Insurance (https://imnairi.am/en/). But this year’s occasion carried even greater significance for the field. Hosted at the elegant San Marco Pool in Yerevan, the evening also marked the 15th anniversary of the Armenian HR Association. This milestone reflects the growing influence and professionalisation of HR in the country’s corporate and public sectors.

The celebration brought together more than 300 HR professionals from over 150 organizations across diverse industries, including telecommunications, insurance, healthcare, banking, construction, retail, IT, mining, tourism, foodservice etc. As the guests arrived in their white, cocktail-style outfits, they were greeted by a live symphonic quartet that kicked off the event.
The opening speeches by the partners and Association Chairman Arpi Karapetyan highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation and focus in Armenia’s professional future, setting the mood for a joyful gathering that was only just getting started.

As the guests filled the venue, the biggest networking opportunity for the Armenian HR community showed its full force. Drinks, smiles, and good company already guaranteed a good time; the giveaway of prizes, a photobooth, and a DJ set made the celebration one to remember. Finally, the cake ceremony was a special moment for the HR community of Armenia as a whole.
This year’s International HR Day does not merely reminisce over the past decade and a half. Armenian HR Association has already established a professional HR Community in the Republic of Armenia, which would contribute to the formation and development of an efficient HR management structure that serves the country. But this event also illustrates the HR community’s readiness to shape the future corporate landscape of Armenia. More than just a celebration, the evening symbolised the HR community’s resilience, adaptability and growing strategic importance. Over the past 15 years, the Armenian HR Association has played a pivotal role in transforming human resource management from a support function into a key driver of organisational success. This was only possible through cooperation, solidarity and love for our craft. This tradition gives us the opportunity to reaffirm these values in the company of friends and colleagues.

With 15 years behind it and a strong community at its core, the Armenian HR Association is well-positioned to lead the next phase of growth and innovation in human resource development.
As the Chairman, Arpi Karapetyan, highlighted, the Association is going to move forward with the four principles that it has adopted as its primary missions: HR advocacy, professional development, improvement of the HRM framework and CSR projects.
The event was not only a success for the day, but a sign of more to be achieved!
