Ideas for National Associations

1-virtual-meeting

Arrange a virtual meeting and ask your participants to each hold up one of the official hashtag, logo or theme cards – you can ask one person to explain why you’re celebrating International HR day and what you’re proud to have achieved in the last 12 months. Record the ‘meeting’ and share the video through social media, using #InternationalHRDay and #HRshapingthenewfuture.

2-photo-collage

Create a photo or video collage or montage about what HR shaping the new future means to you – ask participants to provide photo and statements and/or short videos relating to the rationale

3-interview

Interview a guest via Facebook Live/Instagram/YouTube Live – ask them how they’ve shaping the new future and remember to use #InternationalHRDay and #HRshapingthenewfuture

4-facebook-watch-party

Pre-record a video and share on Facebook, then invite people to join a ‘Facebook Watch Party’ – group members can all watch and comment on the video at the same time to create a shared viewing experience

5-twitter-chat

Host a Twitter chat or question and answer session – whereby people can discuss how they are shaping the new future and how this applies in their companies/organisations

6-virtual-chat

Hold virtual ‘tea and chat’ sessions throughout the day, that anyone can drop into (up to a certain maximum number) – encourage people to bring their hashtag, logo or theme cards, and then take a recording or still picture to share on social media – discussions could take place around how they are practically shaping the new future

Use social media to give a ‘shout-out’ to any HR teams who’ve gone over and above to put people first during the last 12 months and how they are shaping the new future

2-share-story

Share stories internally and externally on social media of the innovative approaches HR has adopted over the last 12 months and how they are shaping the new future

3-write-record

Ask people to write or record what they value about their HR team over the last 12 months and share them through social media using #InternationalHRDay and #HRtogether

4-timelapse

Create an animation or produce a timelapse drawing related to your interpretation of the theme.

Ideas for HR Teams and individuals

1-inspired

Use #InternationalHRDay and #HRshapingthenewfuture to highlight HR professionals who are shaping the new future and how they have inspired or impacted you

2-draw

Write a poem or draw what the theme means to you and share on social media

3-team

Create a team challenge eg Bake a cake or make something out of lego, share it on a video conference or take photos and circulate

4-yoga

Join a free online group activity – yoga, mindfulness, dancing

5-gift

Send a virtual gift or care package

6-quiz

Host a friendly competition eg a quiz or Bingo

Present a HR recognition award
