The APG President (Portuguese Association of People Management), Luís Bento, died today, February, 24 at the Capuchos Hospital, in Lisbon, where he was hospitalized for some time, following a long illness. He was 64 years old.

With a background in Law, married, Luís Bento was born in July 1951 in Parede (Cascais), near Lisbon.

He was Director of the former EPUL (Public Company of Lisbon Urbanization) and Principal Investigator in CPES – Center for Research and Social Studies at Lusófona University and professor in the Master in Sociology at ULHT. He was also trainer and consultant at INA – National Institute of Public Administration and President of the General Council of EBEN-Portugal, European Business Ethic’s Network.

Author of books on Education, Human Resource Management and Business Ethics, he was commentator on economic, social and policy matters in several portuguese TV channels and radio stations.

Luís Bento was president of APG Trainers Group of APG (1998-2000), president of the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO) between 2002 and 2003, and APG Vice President from 2001 to 2006.

In April 2013 became APG President for a term that ended in April 2016
