APG – 47th Annual Meeting

APG organized its 47th Annual Meeting at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon.

More than 200 attendants were present in this event in Lisbon. The program contemplated a presentation from WFPMA President, Pieter Haen, and EAPM President, Izy Béhar, regarding the international survey – Creating People Advantage 2015.

The event ended with a dinner where all APG members with 25 years were congratulated and 2 awards were also given – APG Company (Groundforce) and APG Merit (Jorge Marques – former APG President).

Here is the message that WFPMA President sent:

Dear Mario,
I most sincerely compliment and gratulate you not only with the congress, but also the celebration of your 50th anniversary of APG.
I have been attending and speaking at many congresses and conferences all over the world and as an expert I can tell you that the organization and content of the congress were impeccable and of the highest professional standards, but more than that it has been your warm and overwhelming hospitality and friendship that have made this congress a milestone and an unforgettable event.
Please bring my compliments and thanks to all members of your staff and organization, who have been part of the team that realized this event.
It was a great pleasure to making your acquaintance and have the opportunity to meet many of your members and former presidents. A special moment was the meeting with your founder Raul Caldeira, who has been as well one of the founding fathers of the WFPMA.
We certainly will stay in touch!
Warmest greetings,
Pieter Haen
president WFPMA 2012-2014

Slovenian HR Standards

Slovenian HR Association is aware of current challenges which constantly increase the demand for professionalism and responsible behaviour of HR managers and professionals. As a guardian of HR professionalism, Slovenian HR association had been discussing ways to offer its members effective support and guidance. During these discussions the need for establishing HR standards has emerged and thus a special project group was established in 2012 to prepare a draft version, composed of HR experts and practitioners. They first prepared an overview of existing HR standards in Europe and the world and the efforts of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), focusing on HR competencies and standards of behaviour for HR managers and professionals, were recognized as the most suitable basis to develop a comprehensive set of Slovenian HR standards. The whole model was adapted to Slovenian environment in which middle and small size companies prevail and overall the development of HRM function has been somewhat lagging behind the most developed countries.

Petit pas Award Winner

Dear all

I am very happy to announce that our nominee for the prestigious Petitpas award attributed by WFPMA, Lynda Gratton, has won !

Lynda was nominated by the EAPM for her many years of outstanding work in the field of people management, and I am so delighted that she has added her name to the well known winners, such as Dave Ulrich, who have gone before her.

I was unable to present Lynda with the award in person, so I was delighted that Pieter Haen was able to meet Lynda in London and present her with the award.

A video was made with Lynda and Pieter and had been presented during the World Congress which took place in Santiago de Chile.

EAPM Working Group meeting in Ljubljana

In the beginning of September EAPM working group visited  Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia . The goal of the meeting was also to see on the spot the environment of Slovenian HR association and to know more about the activities and plans of  this small and successful HR association.

SHRA  presented  the most important achievements in 2014 :

  • National HR congress, organised from 2011 together with a partner PlanetGV, approximately 200 participants
  • Start of HR juniors section in 2014
  • Slovenian HR standards in 2014, implementation is in progress
  • Stable financing
  • Increase of membership

Plan till the end of 2015 :

  • Acquire more supporters/steakholders for HR standards implementation
  • Starting more sections to cover specific HR fileds of interests
  • HR acadamy for HR juniors
  • Study conference on Engagement with PR association of Slovenia
  • SHRA Website renewal
  • Working with HR clubs to support their activities on the field

We had a very dynamic discussion, ended with some proposals to Slovenian mngt. team:

  • to implement HR standards step by step,
  • to organize an event for students on faculty with HRM programmes  and present them  HR topics from different European countries and the role of HR associations in those countries. Such approach can raise the interests of young people to be part of such professional organisation as HR association is.

Working group also visited the SHRA office. Office is small but  large enough to support all actions from this place.

Vanda Pečjak, member of SHRA mngt. board
